We were contacted by this local business to complete an installation as part of a Council grant scheme. The solar PV system is part of a scheme to help reduce the carbon footprint of local businesses, in addition to this it will also help reduce running costs.
36 JA Solar 445W modules were installed using out TRIC TR Fix mounting system for Trapezoidal sheet metal roofs. In order to get the most from the system on a single phase, SolarEdge optimisation and inverter was specified. One of the benefits of SolarEdge is the ability to overdrive the system by 100%, as well as having the option for export limitation. Alongside the solar PV our customer also opted to have battery storage fitted. A Tesla Powerwall was chosen to capture excess solar PV production. The Tesla, an AC Coupled unit, combined with the Tesla Gateway, allows power to continue to feed the unit in the event of a grid failure.
An additional benefit of this system is future consideration of electric vehicle charging points. Surplus solar PV energy can also be diverted to electric vehicles as the company upgrades its fleet.
